Our Story

Based out of Chicago, IL, The College Sport Scarf was founded by two Purdue University graduates:  Matthew Kiefer and Travis Lutz.  

Travis and Matt were fraternity brothers at Purdue and fellow engineering majors.  Matthew played basketball for Purdue under both the legendary basketball icon Gene Keady and current coach Matt Painter.  Matthew is still heavily involved with the University today and has been since graduation.

Travis and Matt conceived the idea for a premium European-styled collegiate line of accessories in the Summer of 2010 when Matt was home in the off-season from his professional basketball career in Europe.  Many of the premium fan products in Europe had not successfully spread to the American collegiate market yet.  They went on to design a line of apparel for over 50 schools and began working towards production.  After months of dedication, the apparel collection grew enough momentum and support for Travis and Matt to pursue a collegiate license at their alma mater to test the market for their creative apparel concepts.  After great success in the Purdue market, they've expanded their licensing to over 100 schools.  In mid-2011 they expanded into customized accessories for high schools, smaller colleges, businesses, special events, and non-profits.

College apparel is our passion and it is our mission to create a premium and unique collection of college accessories designed for each specific student, fan and alum.
